At least once a month, we’ll publish stories of our students’ journeys, events at the dojo, or in-depth analyses of techniques. Subscribing to our blog is a great way to get to know our dojo community of students and instructors!
Sensei Jamie
Sensei Jamie began his martial arts journey as a White Belt in 2008. He persevered in his training even through the pandemic, earning his 4th Degree Black Belt (Yondan) in the fall of 2020.
Sensei Jamie began teaching with SDSS Pittsburgh in 2017. “I love seeing a student do something that they thought they could not do at first.” Whether he’s helping students understand the movements of a new form or maximize their power in basic punches and kicks, Sensei Jamie works to show each student that they can do more than they thought they could.
Outside of the dojo, Sensei Jamie has built his career helping non-profit organizations raise funds that will allow them to carry out their missions. He currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of the Educational Foundation of the Community College of Allegheny County, and he is an adjunct faculty member at Carnegie Mellon University.
Thank you, Sensei Jamie, for being part of our amazing instructor team!
