January 2024 Newsletter
The start of a new year is often a time for reflecting back on accomplishments, challenges, and great memories. It’s also a time when many people set intentions, goals, or resolutions for the time ahead. Whatever you’re seeking — more joy, less hassle, more time with loved ones, the list goes on and on — make time to be kind to yourself. Give yourself credit when you’re doing your best, and take time to do things that make you feel good: a walk in the woods, a puzzle or game, Kung Fu (of course!). That kindness will ripple out to others, and more kindness is always a welcome gift.
As we look ahead to 2024, we’ve got great things planned! Watch for more information and registration for these exciting events in the coming weeks.
- There’s snow outside, but we’re already thinking about SUMMER CAMP! Our 2024 summer camp for kids will be June 17 through 21. We’ll announce this year’s weapon soon… 🙂
- On Friday, March 22nd, Senior Masters Lisa and Steve will offer a clinic on defense from the ground. This special clinic will be open to adult students as well as junior adults who have achieved the rank of Black Belt.
- We’re offering an 8-week intensive series on Empowerment Self-Defense (ESD) on Friday mornings in February and March. Did you know that research on ESD shows that it helps build confidence and improve self esteem? We’ll get lots of practice building muscle memory for physical self-defense, and we’ll develop an everyday toolkit for maintaining awareness, setting boundaries, serving as active bystanders, and more! Open to everyone; no prior experience needed.
