At least once a month, we’ll publish stories of our students’ journeys, events at the dojo, or in-depth analyses of techniques. Subscribing to our blog is a great way to get to know our dojo community of students and instructors!
September Newsletter 2024
September is a time for Big Change. School begins and both students and families work to settle into new daily schedules. What seems challenging now will soon become routine as our remarkable skill for adaptation emerges. One of things we love about the martial arts is how it enhances our ability to be resilient and adapt. Developing and practicing discipline in the martial arts spills over into our daily lives, helping us to find discipline in new patterns and routines as they emerge. Coming to class regularly, taking pride in your uniform, and practicing outside of class are all ways that we can cultivate self-discipline to improve our martial arts, and that sense of self-discipline will enhance anything we do.
Practicing discipline can also be Better Together, so we're hosting Better Together Day on Saturday, September 21st! Bring a friend or family member to class to be your partner for the day, and we'll do some fun partner drills and fitness activities together. And don't forget that the first week of the month is Sparring Week, so be sure to come prepared if you'd like to spar. As always, we'll have head and hand gear for you to borrow if needed.
As a reminder, the studio is closed today, Monday, September 2nd in honor of Labor Day. Have a safe and enjoyable weekend!
