At least once a month, we’ll publish stories of our students’ journeys, events at the dojo, or in-depth analyses of techniques. Subscribing to our blog is a great way to get to know our dojo community of students and instructors!
Sensei Joe D
Sensei Joe began as a White Belt in 2007, and he earned his 4th Degree Black Belt (Yandan) in the fall of 2019. Sensei Joe brings a wealth of knowledge about exercise, fitness, and healthy movement to his teaching and his martial arts practice. Outside of the dojo, he is a Muscle Therapist who works with individuals to improve muscle function. Sensei Joe earned a Master’s Degree in Exercise Science and has done graduate coursework in Sports Medicine. He teaches workshops in cadaver anatomy and biomechanics.
What motivates Sensei Joe to keep training? “I’ve always appreciated the concept of “mastery” — the idea that you can always be better at anything. That idea drives me to always want to learn more.” It is also one of the things that excites him about teaching — helping people strive toward greater and greater mastery.
Thank you, Sensei Joe for being part of our incredible instructor team!
